Mosquito Control in Denton, TX

Comprehensive Mosquito Treatments Across North Texas

Mosquitoes are an annoyance no matter where you live, but in Texas, they can be a year-round problem. We often associate mosquitoes with standing water and the summer months, but the reality is that these pests can be problematic any time of the year.

At Adams Exterminating Company, we offer mosquito control services in Denton that are designed to reduce mosquito populations and make your yard a more enjoyable space.

Are Mosquitoes Dangerous?

Mosquitoes are not only a nuisance, but they are also one of the most dangerous creatures on the planet. They are known to spread a variety of bloodborne illnesses, including West Nile virus, Zika virus, malaria, and dengue fever.

While these diseases are not common in the United States, they can be very dangerous and even deadly when they do occur. Mosquitoes are also known carriers of heartworm, a parasitic disease that affects dogs and cats. The more mosquitoes you have in your yard, the greater the risk of contracting one of these dangerous diseases will be.

Essential Mosquito Prevention Tips for Homeowners

To reduce mosquito populations around your home, we recommend doing the following:

  • Remove standing water - Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so the more standing water you have around your property, the more mosquitoes you will have. To reduce mosquito populations, eliminate standing water from your property. This includes emptying kiddie pools, turning over buckets and other containers, and keeping your gutters free of debris.
  • Maintain your yard - Mosquitoes are attracted to overgrown vegetation and tall grass because it provides them with shade and the moisture they need to survive. Keeping your grass cut short and your shrubs and trees trimmed back will make your yard less attractive to mosquitoes.
  • Install mosquito traps - Mosquito traps can be a helpful tool in reducing mosquito populations. They work by emitting carbon dioxide and other chemicals that attract mosquitoes. When the mosquitoes get close to the trap, they are sucked in and trapped inside. While mosquito traps can be effective at reducing mosquito populations, they should not be used as a stand-alone solution.

Our FAQ

  • Is your treatment safe around pets?
Our general treatments are safe around dogs and cats – provided they do not intentionally contact or consume applied materials before they have dried. Certain pets, especially aquatic life and reptiles, are especially vulnerable to some pesticides so it is important to be especially careful while treating when these types of pets are present. We recommend these types of pets, in addition to birds, guinea pigs, and other small animals, be kept away from the treatment area until it is safe for them to return.
  • How long do I have to stay out of my home or property after treatment is performed?
In situations where you have to be out of the property during and after treatment (flea treatment, roach clean-out service, or for health reasons, etc.), we recommend that you stay away until all products have completely dried. This is usually approximately two to four hours depending on conditions, after which time it is completely safe to re-enter the property.
  • Do you offer plans or bundles?
Yes, we offer three different plans designed to meet your needs and your budget. Our perimeter, Home Guardian, and Home Guardian Plus are all designed to bundle your pest control treatment into a package that fits your needs. If there isn’t a plan that works for you, don’t worry, we will customize one that fits your unique needs.
  • What are your hours?
Our offices in both Lewisville, TX and Denton, TX are open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
