Guide To Protecting Your Sachse, TX Property From Termites

Texas’s warm weather can lead to many pests, including termites. Termites love moisture, and Sachse’s humid climate is perfect for them. Subterranean termites live underground but can find their food in the wooden structures of a home. They can create tunnels in walls that cause considerable damage, damage which is usually not covered by insurance.

To protect your house from termites, first, check for water damage in your home. Bad drainage or a leak in your ceiling can create extra moisture to attract termites. It can also cause water damage to your home, giving termites their favorite food: damp wood, which is softer and easier to chew than sound wood.

3 Rodent Prevention Tips Every Sachse, TX Resident Should Know

Rodents are common pests in Sachse. A rodent problem could involve rats, mice, or squirrels. These infestations often happen during the fall. Rodents will find their way inside to escape the cold before winter hits. Once inside, they can spread diseases, get into your food, and cause structural damage by chewing on wood or wires inside your home. Here are some important steps in prevention:

  1. Seal the exterior of your home. During warm weather, check the outside of your house for any holes or cracks that could be letting rodents inside. Seal them up tight before the temperature drops and rodents start coming inside.
  2. Keep your house clean! You can discourage rodents by limiting their access to food. Keep grains and cereals in well-sealed containers that mice won’t be able to get into. Never leave food sitting on the counter.
  3. Use traps. If you think you may have a rodent problem, use traps around your house to cut down the population.

However, if you have a severe infestation, traps won’t take care of the issue. Instead, call Adams Exterminating Company to help you safely eliminate and prevent rodents.

Our FAQ

Have questions? We are here to help. Still have questions or can't find the answer you need? Give us a call at 940-239-9786 today!

  • I have a baby/toddler… is it safe to have treatment?
While the products we use are toxic to insects, they pose almost no serious risk to people when used properly. However, it is always advisable to be careful when using chemicals around small children, including pesticides. If you have a small child, we recommend staying away from the treatment area while the service is being performed and then wait until the product has dried.
  • How many years have you been in business?
We are a family owned, locally operated pest control company that has been in business since 1947. For over 75 years, our company has expanded its service area while continuing to provide exceptional customer service.
  • How long do I have to stay out of my home or property after treatment is performed?
In situations where you have to be out of the property during and after treatment (flea treatment, roach clean-out service, or for health reasons, etc.), we recommend that you stay away until all products have completely dried. This is usually approximately two to four hours depending on conditions, after which time it is completely safe to re-enter the property.
  • Do you offer termite control?

Yes, both our Home Guardian and Home Guardian Plus plans offer termite control using the proven Sentricon® System with Always Active™ along with a termite service warranty.
